Adult primary care

Working adults tend to postpone care until something forces the issue. Adult primary care is the alternative: a short visit once a year, and a clinician who already knows your numbers when something does come up.

What an adult visit usually covers

  • Annual physical and a full review of your history
  • Blood pressure, weight, and blood work — cholesterol, blood sugar, kidney and liver function, thyroid
  • Age-appropriate cancer screening and referrals for colonoscopy, mammogram and similar
  • Cardiovascular risk assessment
  • Diabetes and pre-diabetes management
  • Immunisations and travel advice
  • Mental health — sleep, stress, mood, alcohol and substance use, discussed without judgement
  • Employment, DOT and pre-operative physicals

If you have not seen anyone in years

You are in the majority, and nobody here will make you feel bad about it. Come in, we will take a baseline, and we will work out together what actually needs attention first. Most people leave a first visit relieved rather than lectured.

Common questions

I feel fine. Do I need an annual physical?

High blood pressure, high cholesterol, early diabetes and early kidney disease all feel like nothing at all. The annual visit exists to find those while they are still easy to treat.

Can I get my labs done at the clinic?

Yes. Blood draws are done here, usually at the same visit.

Do you do physicals for work?

Yes — employment physicals, and DOT physicals for commercial drivers with a certified medical examiner on staff.

This is not for emergencies

If you are having chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden weakness or numbness, trouble speaking, severe bleeding, or any symptom that frightens you, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not use this website, and do not wait to see if it passes.
